Karn's ability will almost never get you what you need. Or the put the counterspell in exile, effectively playing around it because they know they're in the clear. (And there seems to be a presumption of infinite Karns when people consider the card-obviously not true). The logic being "Your opponent has to play around the other card because you could get it the next turn, and you don't have to actually get it." Except they could kill you or Karn. Most people seem to act like it's draw two. Most decks just have better options and they're deceptively weak. If Karn makes an impact, it'll be on the back of his 3rd ability, not his first two which everyone focuses on. He's a limited bomb no doubt, but lots of cards are that don't cut it in constructed.
